The Zenobia
MS Zenobia Shipwreck
The Zenoiba was a roll on roll off cargo ferry that sank on the 7th of June 1980. She was on a voyage from Sweden to Syria, however, when she got to Cyprus she developed a problem with the ballast computer. This left her at a 40-degree list. It was decided that she would be dragged 1.5 kilometres offshore to let her go down. She took 3 days in total to sink and went down with 104 articulated lorries still fully laden with cargo, estimated to be worth 200 million dollars! The top of the wreck lies at 16m and the sea bed at 42m.
